This seems to be a common problem across the entire Hyundai 1.4 & 1.6 Diesel engine range. I drive a 1.6 Diesel fitted to a i30. It has the same symptoms. After giving up on Hyundai to find the fault I have been going through related threads and together with my own experiences have developed a theory.

Hyundai i30 - Gearbox/clutch problems. Hi i bought a used 2017 Hyundai i30 1.4t 27.00 from a main dealer about a month ago and the gearbox has always been notchy leading to ponderous gear changes feels like a clutch thing but clutch still bites early. Issues. - Must push clutch hard down to the floor to change gears. Lift a few mm and it bites. - Crunching going into reverse 9/10 times. 1st is as hard to get into. The rest of the gears seem to engage/ disengage fine other times but when coming down the gears there can be difficulty, regardless of the gear/ speed.

2011 Hyundai i30 1.6 diesel question. While driving at different speeds there is a jerking, does it worse from 80-100. It does it randomly at any time, I thought injectors but fuel economy is still good and drives normally when it doesnt do it.
